Hello hello. It’s a beautiful, brisk Thursday in NYC. We’re a week away from Thanksgiving, which means for Susannah and me, a week away from India! I guess the next one of these will be coming to you from halfway around the world.
Last night we wrapped recording on Season 2 of Style As Identity and it was such a pleasure. It’s been so fun producing this little podcast with so much heart. Lola and Frankie put incredible effort into the project - from research on guests and brands and the world of fashion, to dedicating their time, energy, and smarts to recording and editing. It’s a real labor of love and it’s been special to be even a small part of it. If you’ve had a chance to listen, let me know. It’s great to hear feedback from friends. If not, start with one of my favorite eps of the season, Wide the Brand.
Enough about that! Let’s get into the recs for this week:
1/ “The myth of The Writer looms large in our cultural consciousness.” If you were wondering, no, you can’t make a living as just an author.
2/ Loved this video on the “surprising and fascinating results” from the great American Coffee Taste Test!
As a nice companion piece, read this to understand why your latte costs so much!
3/ The most Nepalese reason for Nepal banning TikTok: “social harmony and goodwill are being disturbed”. Honestly, I get it.
That’s all for this week! Thanks as always for reading and sharing this newsletter with anyone you think may find it interesting!
