Morning! Finally made it to the pigeon (see below).
What a treat it is to be a New Yorker!
Anyway, sharing today’s post with all because it’s a light and breezy morning and why not. Hope everyone is doing well, staying warm and healthy, and is as excited as I am to celebrate Thanksgiving with loved ones.
On to today’s recs:
1/ Three Ways to Become a Deeper Thinker.
Wrestling with a koan of your own—such as Why am I alive? or For what would I give my life?—can be a way to improve your emotional health and grow as a person. You might resist doing so because life’s fundamental riddles are uncomfortable to contemplate, and the world gives you every opportunity to avoid them. But when you enter the mysterious world of unanswerable questions, you will surely grow as a person and change for the better.
2/ Gotta say, Wicked was amazing. We went Thursday night (opening night here in NYC) and I was totally and completely blown away. It was so much better than I thought it would be. I’ve been thinking about it a lot since and am genuinely ready to go see it again. A friend wrote this great companion piece about the costumes.
3/ I’m nearly done with Matrix by Lauren Groff (thanks Gary for letting me borrow!!) and what a delightful read it’s been - despite the grisly late 12th century ailments and gruesome deaths. It’s been refreshing to soar through the story of a powerful woman taking command. Highly recommend!
That’s all for this week. Thanks for following and reading. I’m working up some ideas to refresh this weekly newsletter so expect some updates as we roll into 2025. Have a wonderful Sunday and I’ll be back Thursday with much more to share.
