Hello! We’re back! Back from Helsinki, back from India, back from holiday, back to work. The trip was a whirlwind to say the least.
It was a glorious mix of movement, travel, stillness and waiting. It was lovely to celebrate our friends, to support their marriage and to be with people we love.
But now, back to the grind. Back to editing and emailing and filming and doing everything I can to make SUP and Tourlami and all the things keep chugging forward.
Ready for your recs? Ok! Here they are for this week:
1/ A major highlight from the trip was our sauna experience in Helsinki! It was incredible. We reserved a two hour slot at Löyly, which is located right on the Baltic Sea. They offered four different saunas to use and when it got too hot, you just dipped into the Baltic. It was amazing. I watched this to prepare myself. Should you ever find yourself in Finland, snag a spot at Löyly.
2/ Check out Casa Dalí - loved these images from the creatively designed abode of Salvador Dalí.
3/ I continue to be glued to the news out of Israel and the ongoing conflict. Thought this was a pretty interesting interview, given its timeliness. Ezra Klein interviews Amaney Jamal on the polling of the people of Gaza that happened prior to 10/7.
“For 20 years extremists have led this conflict.“
A bummer to note: the younger generation seems to be more extreme and more militaristic.
I’ve found the Economist to be a great resource for news on the conflict if you’re looking for solid news reporting.
That’s all for this week’s recs. Thanks as always for reading and sharing and being a part of this little experience.
See you this weekend if you’re a premium, otherwise next week.
