Hey y’all. I’m in Texas today visiting family and it’s a trip!
Onto to the recs for today:
1/ This podcast dives into “luxury beliefs” and explores why it’s often those least effected by an issue that loudly proclaim its importance. I found the discussion around Defund the Police particularly interesting. I’m not making claims either way, but it’s worth hearing all sides, in my opinion.
2/ I really love Simone’s videos, but this one, with its animations and all, was especially fun. She’s worth a sub for sure.
3/ As more and more comes out about Jan 6th and how we should understand the events that took place, I revisited this piece from the New Yorker.
We do not fear those whom we see as being like us; we fear the other.
The Washington Post’s ongoing investigation is also worth a reviewing. It’s pretty incredible this happened and how things continue to unfold.
