The 33 Project

Good morning friends. This is the last regular post of 2023! What a year. A wild one for sure. I saw so many ups and downs this year that it’s hard to even reflect without feeling a little overwhelmed. But, that’s good right? Life is being lived.

One bit of reflection I am comfortable doing is related to this newsletter. 2023 was a fun year for The 33 Project, seeing lots of new subscribers and the creation of the premium weekend edition. Let’s jump into a few fun stats for the year on this little newsletter:

• I posted 52 regular newsletters this year and 25 premium newsletters [upgrade here].

• This newsletter is read across 13 US states and 4 countries with 40% of subscribers living in NYC (thanks friends and fam!).

• Favorite paid subscriber note from 2023: “You are another daughter to us! ❤️”

• Open Rate floats between 75-80% average weekly opens each month 💪.

So thanks. Thanks for reading and sharing and being a part of this silly hobby where I share shit I read, listen to, watch or just discover. I appreciate you!

Let’s get into the recs for this week aka the final week of 2023:

1/ This was a delightful grub street following Dwight Garner. I love that he frequents Old Johns!

Writing is hard because thinking is hard, and when you’re writing, a bit of sweetness can seem to inject you with that single extra IQ point you sense you need.

2/ How AI Photo editing will distort our memories. Eeek.

3/ Look at these teeny tiny cuties. A wealthy plumber! Can you believe it? Guess it’s time to go back to Amsterdam to visit the Rijksmuseum.
