Good morning! Last night, I had the pleasure of joining a friend at Carnegie Hall to see Vikingur Olafsson play Bach. It was beautiful.
The night before I saw I Love You So Much I Could Die at New York Theatre Workshop and it was excellent. It was sort of like a Wired article come to life as a play with music. The one-woman show is a sort of memoir of love, pain and loss. I had a similar reaction leaving the show as to when I saw Fun Home - a sort of gut punch. Like the air had been taken out, slowly, of the theatre and I was outside recovering. It’s running through early March so if you have a chance, head to e 4th.
On to the recs for this week:
1/ This is a fun piece on how many books you’ll read in your lifetime. 46% of people surveyed (1500ppl) didn’t read a single book in 2023. Of the 54% that read books in 2023, the average amount was 11. I just want to give a shout out to all my friends who definitely read more than 11 books last year. We’re above average!
Another fun fact, if a seven-year-old began reading in 2023, they would get through roughly 770 books in their lifetime. You can listen to the article via their podcast, here.
2/ A mask or a muzzle? Either way I can think of many people I know that need this.
3/ For my other wordle-heads. Nerds unite!
That’s it for this week. Let me know what you’re reading and consuming. Would love to hear from you. See y’all soon.
