Good morning friends. Another lovely day in NYC! How’s life? Somehow we’re all still chugging. Susannah and I went to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden last week and oh my were the blooms spectacular. Check out this Japanese peony
Also for those interested, everyone wish Susannah luck on a big pitch she has today - she’ll be done this evening so send her some love.
Let’s get into this week’s recs:
1/ This was such a fun episode to watch! They basically explore different food systems within NYC and upstate and combine food from different areas to create an epic feast. It’s shot really well and everyone’s extremely likable. Sort of like a YouTube version of Bourdain’s Parts Unknown. Also the show will make you fall in love with NYC.
2/ This is an interesting podcast profile of Martine Rothblatt. Such an innovative and prolific mind. The bit at the end about prolonging life via robots I could live without, but all fascinating either way!
3/ A nice playlist for your listening leisure. Speaking of, Apple has created a “Classical” app that is an incredible resource for listening to and discovering Classical Music. Check it out, here.
As a bonus: there’s a new resource called Elevated Access where pilots fly people in need of healthcare (read: abortions, GA care for trans people), at no cost, to supportive and safe states. If you’re interested in getting involved they have resources for non-pilots as well. There’s also networks popping up where people can donate miles for the same reason. Worth googling if it interests you.
