Hello hello. Back in NYC after a jam packed weekend in Chicago for Tourlami. More on that, here:
It’s been hard to find time to explore the internet and dive into anything but work these days. I’m so tired, I used find my phone twice yesterday.
Anyway, onto the recs for this week:
1/ One guy’s approach to avoiding breakouts from poison ivy. Spoiler: he eats it.
2/ Susannah’s been playing the new Billie Eilish album on repeat. This was an interesting interview from Soundcloud all about the music. Her music really is lovely and she’s evolved as an artist in some pretty interesting ways.
3/ This is depressing. On teachers losing the fight to cell phones.
Schools are losing teachers for a variety of reasons, and phones factor into decisions to leave. Dozens of teachers have told me they spend more time policing kids’ phone use than they do teaching. For Rutherford—a 35-year-old teacher who once embraced technology—seeing kids checked out and, in his view, addicted, robbed him of the joy of teaching.
That’s it for this week. See my premium friends this weekend! Have a great Thursday.
