The 33 Project
Morning morning. Friends, I slept past 8am today. I’m wild!
As a result everything is off, lol. I’m late for all things, I can’t find anything, the chaos has begun. So…let’s just get into the recs for this week, ok:
1/ Super interesting assessment of boys in the UK and how their lives have been affected by their phones and the internet. It’s pretty bleak, tbh. H/t to Meghan for this companion read on the “growing gulf between men and women”. Interesting times.
2/ Interesting first person take on how messed up psychiatric care in America is and how psychedelics are the answer.
It can be boiled down to one sentence: in modern mental health care, we don’t treat the roots of mental illness but merely (and often poorly) the symptoms. We earn a PhD in how to be mentally ill but learn little about how to be mentally well.
3/ This looks fun. Anyone want to watch with me?
