Good morning readers. It’s another hot summer day and I’ve got some quick recs for you to spend your time reading. On to it:
1/ Ada Limón was named U.S. Poet Laureate a few days ago. Her poetry is really wonderful. I think just last week I posted her poem? Am I, also, a genius?
2/ This profile went all sorts of places.
“There’s nothing like a Catholic upbringing for a sense of sin,” she told John Hall: “if you have that you enjoy sin so much more when you get to it.”
3/ My uncle sent this interesting article from my alma mater about the time they did a “Gay Purge.” I wish that sentence weren’t real, but alas, it is. It’s wild to think that just a few decades ago people were literally being “purged” from American universities for being gay. Yikes.
Bonus/ ~Podcasts Updates~
Have you listened to my podcasts yet? I’m working on two, that’s right two whole podcasts that are simultaneously being birthed into this world.
The first is Making the Case with Lambda Legal where lawyers discuss the strategy and impact of their case wins.
The second is STYLE AS IDENTITY where Lola & Frankie chat with brands helping to evolve, for the better, the current structures of the fashion industry.
And, if I do say so myself, both shows are smart and fun and a real solid listen.
So please check them out, listen, subscribe, rate, do it all!
That’s all for this week - thank you as always for reading and supporting. Please share this newsletter so I can keep it growing and let me know if you’re enjoying it or if you want anything new and fun. See you next Thursday.
