Morning. It’s another Thursday so here we go…
1/ This trailer looks incredible! I mean the footage is insane. Can’t wait to watch.
2/ I’ve really been enjoying this new podcast called Edith from Crooked Media. It’s a scripted comedy show starring Rosamund Pike. She plays Edith Wilson, wife of the 28th President, Woodrow Wilson. Apparently, Wilson suffered a paralyzing stroke while in the White House and his wife didn’t really tell anyone? Instead, she made decisions for him and as him. So I guess she was the first female president? I suppose I should dig into the history because the story is pretty cool. The show’s quite funny and well crafted.
3/ Ruby Tandoh, of The Great British Bake Off fame, often writes great pieces about food and the link between food and emotions. I found this piece on “Intuitive Eating” pretty interesting. Here’s a bit from the end that stood out:
Intuitive eating is at its best when at its most ordinary, an answer to a question that, sure as the sun, rises again each day: What do you want to eat? It’s nothing new, but it’s a start. “There is power in understanding your appetites,” van Zweden writes. “The same with your hungers, and the places where the two meet. The measure of my powers is to recognise that this is power at all.”
Thanks for reading along - hope you find these recs interesting. Feel free to send in your own and share this newsletter. Have a great rest of your week.
