Hello hello. I woke this morning, at 5am, by smacking my head into the sharp corner of my dresser. It was as if some higher power shifted my body from its deep (jk extremely light) slumber and plunged it off the bed, into the most angular corner ikea has ever created, to really rile me up. Whoop score 0. I definitely don’t have a whoop.
Anyway, I’m fine. And hopefully so are these people that were nearly flooded off the 1 train at 28th last night.
Anyway, it’s Tuesday! So it’s time for a themed post with recs. Welcome to the new people - thanks for joining from IG. You’re cute!
Today’s theme is all about the internet. I’ve done a tech Tuesday before, I know, but with the new brain damage from this morning’s drama we’re just going for a reliable repeat. Onto to the recs:
1/ You can use this incredible site to determine which restaurants in Manhattan have the hottest diners. You’re welcome. It’s lowkey racist, but what isn’t? It did make it to the NYT, so I’m a little behind. 🤷🏼♀️
2/ This was a great interview with Maya Mann. I guess she can be considered a post-internet artist. Her work is all about the intersection of the digital and the irl.
3/ A little while back, The Tech Stuff podcast, which is an excellent listen, brought on Politico’s Maggie Miller to discuss how current conflicts, like the war between Israel and Iran, have been fought in cyberspace. If you want a thorough understanding of how cyber attacks fit into conflict, check this out.
TBH hackers could use some branding support, but whatever.
That’s all for this week. See you Thursday for our regular post. Have a good one!
