Morning readers. Hope your week is going well. It’s spicy here in NYC. In fact, I’m sweating as I write this from the comfort of my living room.
Let’s get into it before I melt away:
1/ I’m still loving the Bad Faith podcast. This week there was an interesting conversation on Free Speech - especially related to transgender rights. While at moments the conversation veered into the infuriating (i.e. centrist leftists telling progressive leftists to stop complaining), some insights broke through. I appreciate the longer conversations with diverse viewpoints.
2/ I’m currently reading Stolen Focus: Why You Can’t Pay Attention—and How to Think Deeply Again and it’s really good. When author Johann Hari was doing the press rounds, I heard him discuss the book on several podcasts and knew it would be something I’d devour. So far, that’s true. He interviews experts and applies solid reflections on the state of the attention economy. His thoughts on how the current world we live in deeply impacts our ability to focus are pretty fascinating.
3/ This was exceptionally rad.
That’s it for this week. Stay cool and see you next Thursday.
