Monday! Had my coffee, drove for 2 hours, ready to go!
Back home and thinking about comforts. What comforts me. What I need and enjoy. What makes me feel safe, calm, and like I can be productive. One of the most pleasurable comforts I’ve experienced is returning home. Coming back to a space that I’ve made for myself. It has my things, but it’s also so familiar in a way that just feels like light hitting the body. Anyway, onto the recommendations.
1/ Perry Mason. Last night season 1 of the HBO series Perry Mason concluded and it was pretty good! I came for Matthew Rhys and Tatiana Maslany and I stayed to experience the case unravel. It was clever, dark and substantially entertaining. Each episode felt so packed with story that it was a bit overwhelming. I want more!
2/ This may seem stupid, but I am obsessed with this pen. It makes me want to write all the time, constantly, just so I can put the pen to paper. It’s smooth and clean and feels really freaking good! I’ve taken to writing out to-do lists on paper for some reason, lately. I guess it’s really satisfying to physically cross off something, rather than just delete from a text box. So yeah, the OptiFlow from Staples (of all places) has made it all the more exciting to finish a task.
3/ It’s Monday, so I guess I’ll participate in the now, long-dead #MusicMonday twitter trend. Here’s a great song for when I’m feeling off or unproductive and just need to chill out. I guess this track makes me feel a little less guilty when I want to simply do nothing? I especially like that kind of muddy sounding switch around the 2 minute mark where it really slows down and feels like it’s sinking into the couch. It’s like sinking in molasses but turned into a sound.
Ok, bye!
