Hello! We’re back with another weekly edition of this little newsletter. It’s mid-August now and the city is puttering back in its own way. It’s still more mellow than past tourist-infested summers, but at least things are open. People are out and about and life feels like it is being lived.
On to this week’s recs:
1/ This was an interesting article on the Delta variant by famed journalist David Wallace-Wells. There’s just so much we don’t know!
“No one expected it to go up so quickly, and no one expected it to go down so quickly,” said Gu. “I think the short answer is just that the pandemic is unpredictable, even for scientists.
Terrifying. Also, please can I just take that nasal spray!? What are we waiting for (!!!)
2/ I loved listening to Matthew Rhys talk about acting and his work. Rhys is a wonderful actor and it’s clear that he works hard to make sure he delivers. I also enjoyed the analogy to love - great interview conducted by Peter Rinaldi.
3/ This dive into Erika Girardi of Real Housewives fame has some fun insights. It’s such a wild season and to think of her as going off-script, or off book to play out the real legal drama in her life is pretty interesting. Reality TV continues to unfold in mysterious ways. I’m just happy I don’t still produce it.
Thanks for reading this week and please share this newsletter with anyone you think may be interested.
