Hello hello. Writing this to you from a gorgeous porch in ptown!
It’s lovely here and the flowers are really flowering.
Anyway, it’s early and everyone’s sleeping but I want to get back to relaxing, so here are your recs for this fine Thursday:
1/ This was an incredible read from Taffy Brodesser-Akner on trauma.
Maybe, actually, there was something I could learn from Jack. That after all your attempts at healing — when you finally realize that you are forever changed — you can allow yourself to embrace your trauma. You survive what happened to you, then you survive your survival, and then the gift you’re given is that you fall in love with your whole life, inextricable from the bad thing that happened to you.
2/ This is a must listen. “Why didn't Chris and Dan get into Berghain?” Explores so much about the storied night club in Berlin and techno music and being a club rat. It’s great.
3/ We saw Trap for my bday and boy oh boy was it bad. Like really bad. But this article about the real life event that it’s based off of is incredible.
